I’m trying to catch this blog up on the many things I’ve been doing over here in my first year of photography. I recently designed and created a professional wedding album which was just delivered to me today! I’m so excited to share this information because I now have a renewed liking of my own photos after seeing them in print. It’s completely different to hold and view tangible prints, and I have to say, they look so much better than on the screen. Well, unless you have an Ipad (which I don’t) then it might be a tie. Either way, I would suggest investing in an album that you can pick up and hold, display, and pass down to your wee little ones.
Sure, posting these album layouts that were already saved to my computer made this post creation go WAY more quickly. But, I also wanted to show you my album page design along with sharing Amber & Mark’s Somerset and Seven Springs, PA wedding. It was gorgeous and all the elements flowed so nicely through they day. I tried very hard to tell the story of their day through some of the more artistic photographs. I know I have a lot of learning to do, but I am definitely pleased with the way it turned out and MORE than happy with the quality of this album, it’s incredible. I really don’t want to put it down. It’s on my lap right now. I just might hold it all day. Stay tuned, I’ll be posting some photographs of the actual album in the near future.
This is a layout for a 10×10 flush mount album. The photos are printed directly onto the thick, lay flat pages. The first two images show the cover photo for a cutout on the cover of the album and the second image is the first left page. From there, full page spreads that are creased, not cut, so photos can extend over a left and right page.

See the expression on Amber’s face? The DJ “messed up” right in the middle of their first dance…

But when the music switched from Fields of Gold to Baby Got Back, somehow a funky, coordinated dance followed.
Guests were howling.

I also want to say a special THANK YOU to Amber & Mark for putting their trust in me to capture their day. When they booked me in the spring of 2010, I had what we might call a minimal wedding portfolio… I really, truly appreciate them.
