Sometimes brides are forced to pick whether or not they want their ceremony to be set up indoors based on weather forecasts several hours prior to the ceremony. So, after a year…or more, of planning, some brides entire vision for their wedding day is dramatically changed. And with the weather we’ve been experiencing lately, how in the world can you make that choice? It never rains when it looks like it’s going to (this past Saturday). Then a sudden downpour and tornado warnings appear out of absolutely nowhere (2 Saturdays ago). Hmmm. I’m so glad Shannon & Steve realized the potential for no rain (although very overcast) when they had to make their choice. Of course, we could have improvised inside if we had to at the last minute, but thankfully, that wasn’t necessary.

Shannon and Steve opted for the “first look” where we set them up in a pretty spot to see each other prior to the ceremony. Shannon went up and tapped Steve on the shoulder…
And he was pretty happy with what he saw. Then we got all of the family portraits out of the way, so after the ceremony, they were able to go straight to the reception and celebrate! Good deal.

And here’s what Sam is usually up to by the end of the night! Bar shots with dramatic lighting. Good work, dear.
